NOW PRACTICE!

By: Life is Good Playmakers

Use the Goodification Worksheet(s) to Practice:

Step 1: Look at what you’re currently doing, before you try to change it.  Describe what you’re doing, who is involved, how it works, and make sure you’re noticing as much as possible—but don’t try to change it yet!

Step 2: Use the domains of Internal Control, Social Connection, Joyfulness, and Active Engagement to discover what’s already good, and where we might seek to goodify first.  We don’t have to try too hard!  Often the most impactful changes are also the simplest ones.  By noticing what aspects of the activity contribute most to it working as well as it does, you can use this as a starting point to enhance and grow the good already there.  By noticing what domain of O’Playsis seem to be missing or lacking most from the activity, you can use this as a starting point to make changes that enhance this domain.

Step 3: Try it out, and do an O’Playsis check.  Goodification is not about “fixing” things, but it is about using our Playmaker practice to keep refining and adjusting in order to build and rebuild O’Playsis.  So once you’ve goodified something, try it out and check how it feels by asking the O’Playsis questions, and taking into account everyone involved in the activity: Is it joyful?  Is it connecting?  Is it safe and empowering?  Is it actively engaging?  If it is, congratulations! You’ve goodified for your audience, for now.  Just expect that it will likely evolve and change over time, so you may need to goodify further down the road.  If you still need to goodify further now, keep at it!  This is a practice and we keep growing our skills the more we practice!
