Ohio | The Lucky Fin Project

The woman who inspires me to focus on the good is Molly, founder of The Lucky Fin Project. After the birth of her daughter Ryan, who was born with a limb difference called Symbrachydactyly, Molly recognized the need for an organization that could connect families through support, education, and awareness. The Lucky Fin Project was born from Molly’s blood, sweat and tears, and has reached almost 25,000 people worldwide.

Over 10,000 Lucky Fin bracelets have been made to celebrate and bring awareness to those with limb differences. Molly has done this on her own, and has truly created a beautiful community.

I can honestly say that after the birth of my daughter, her friendship, guidance and welcoming attitude into the limb difference community quite literally saved me. I will never be able to repay her for all she has done for my family, and the thousands of other people around the world…but recognizing her as a Hero of Optimism is a great place to start!

Thank you Molly, for all you’ve done, all you continue to do. You are an inspiration to so many, and a friend to all. We love you Molly!
