20 Pieces of Advice for the Class of 2018

Last month, we asked our Life is Good Facebook and Instagram community what advice they would give to the graduating class of 2018.

Here were some of our favorite responses:

@samvoelkel What ever you become stay kind. 💕🐝

@emilyrodesss  Slow down! You’ve been going non-stop and now its time to take a deep breath and realize you are human.

@chugginss Your first boss is as important as your first job. Look for someone who will really teach you and guide you and help set you up for success through your entire career.

@karenallen222 Take care of your teeth and the rest of your body. Don’t sweat the small stuff and it’s mostly small stuff.

@tinaberns531 Make mistakes! don’t forget your friends and family and fall in love with as many things as possible – it’s part of life!

@jbjean42 Set your catch.. Meaning most of us set our attention on the leap but the most important thing is what catches us.. It’s what catches us that gets us to keep going if/when we win or lose.. 😘💞🙏🏼

@joanm.coleman Get a library card and never stop learning!! 📚📚📚

@pinnersarah Your first, second, or even third job may not be exactly what you want… keep moving… don’t get stagnant. Don’t forget to thank those who help you along the way, you WILL have helpers (though you may not recognize them right away and might not even like them!)

@chiarella_km You’re going to run into struggles, and face things that will make you doubt yourself and your path; although it may seem like it’s a dead end, or that your dream(s) is over, it’s not. Just keep pushing, and don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty along the way❤️

@Kara Vorhes Do as many weird things as possible in your 20s, find a couple you’re really good at in your 30s, be an expert at it by your 40s, and remember to look around and enjoy each step of the process!

@Gina Gamba Don’t expect everything to come easy. Adversity builds character and failure teaches resilience. It isn’t easy but it is worth it.

@Jorge Rodriguez Own a good pair of blue jeans so when you fall you can dust yourself off and keep going or start anew.

@savanahthemermaid Don’t be in a rush to get through the next phase of life, slow down and enjoy the moment 💓

@Rose Jenkins Be easy with yourself. Follow your passions. Be kind. Spend quality consistent time with your loved ones. Laugh every day.

@Tammy Hensley Keep looking at the stars while keeping your feet on the ground. And for every hard day there’s better days ahead

@Pam Dunn Enjoy your life, don’t feel you have to please everyone else. Be responsible, but really enjoy your early years

@Erin Kellett It’s okay to change your mind.

@Alice Shore Marsh Work hard at something you love. Love people more. Be humble.

@scottmturner Follow your dreams and not the dreams of others. You have one life, live it to it’s fullest with no regrets!

@Cristina Laird-Zeno Believe you can do more with good choices! Be respectful. Call your mom! 💖 Enjoy!
