We had thought about writing a book for a long time, but didn’t want to write a typical business book. When National Geographic approached us to see if we’d be interested in partnering to develop a book that was different – one that concentrates on our brand values and how optimism can affect people’s lives – we knew this was the right partnership for us. In September 2015, we published Life is Good: The Book, How to Live with Purpose and Enjoy the Ride, a fun, inspiring book of simple wisdom in which our founders, Bert and John Jacobs, use Life is Good’s 10 key superpowers – Openness, Courage, Simplicity, Humor, Gratitude, Fun, Compassion, Creativity, Authenticity, Love – to reveal that the tools for a happy and fulfilling life are accessible to us all.
