Alabama | She Inspires Me So Much to Do Better

810_edited_5789a55169f6e-imageMy baby sister (though at 23, she’s no longer a baby) is my hero. She was born 3 months early, weighing in at a whopping two pounds. She spent 88 days in NICU. At age 2, was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. At 23 years old she has had 18 different surgeries. She is almost to the point of being in a wheelchair full time. She hurts constantly but always has this huge smile on her face. She battles depression but has a therapy cat that helps her daily. She plays basketball and softball with a special needs team in our area. She is also my kids’ biggest cheerleader, whether it’s basketball, baseball, softball, or cross country, she’s always there for them. She inspires me so much to do better because she deals with so much on a daily basis. I have a photo of her when she was younger holding a huge bouquet of yellow daffodils and all I have to do is look at that pic and it brightens my day and pulls me out of whatever funk I may be in. She is such an inspiration to me and everyone she meets!!
